Most Comprehensive List of Local Directories Online

I've been wanting to do this for a long time but just got the energy to do it. I was tired of searching for local directories, finding a few and then not remembering their domain names... and my bookmarks are such a mess I can not make heads of tails of them.

Well there are somewhere about 100 local directories out there but so far I just found 75 of them and I want you to help me sort it all out... meaning helping me add to the list but also to let me know which directory gets feed from super sites like, SuperPages.com or LocalEze.com, and so on. This way I would be able to do an update and group them appropriately.

Well how I finally got the list together is from searching for articles on local directories and then I grouped all the listings together since none of the articles had a comprehensive list (some had 30, others 40). I then loaded each listing in my browser, one by one to make absolutely sure that each listing was as noted.

I will ad to these lists all month as I test, use, and otherwise garner information on different Social Networking and Bookmarking websites.

In the olden days (a few years ago) forums were the way to go. Many of the really popular ones are still in existance but are being less used because of their limitations and they being one-dimentional.

It's on the news quite often... where people are so addicted to the Social Networking and Bookmarking websites that they litterally use it to replace an active face to face social life. I have even heard of cases where mariages have been disolved because one party (or both) have replaced interactiveity with each other with these Social Networking and Bookmarking websites With something so powerful you would think every single business would make a mad rush to include this type of activity in their marketing strategy. Truth is Social Networking and Bookmarking is currently mainly used by consultants of various kinds in various fields and have been reaping it's benefits almost from inception.

What the average business owner needs to know is that if they themself have a phobia or some sort of fear of spending quality time online doing this it is a great idea to hire a local knowlageable Collage student, or a teenage son or daughter or relative to do it all for them. It would help if the person hired had an interest on the topic.

Case in point, the morning show "Cathy Lee and Hoda" on NBC at 10am EST Weekday mornings hired someone exclusively to handle their twitter account. Members of "The view" have mantioned many times that they use Twitter quite often.

So if people in high places are using these Social Networking and Bookmarking websites to their advantage why not you? What is stopping you? Please figure what this is and get the excuse or obstacle out of your way.
